Making Sense. The Olympic Spirit.

At the start of the Games, UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed his hope that the Olympic spirit will extend beyond the Games and remind everyone that there is no limit to what we can achieve together for peace, human rights and well-being for all. And that we also ask ourselves in business terms: “What are our values and do we really put them into practice?

In this version of Making Sense, we look at the Olympic Spirit. Success does not come by chance; it requires blood, sweat and tears. An Olympian perseveres where others give up. It is important to participate, to strive for goals, to make progress and to become a better version of yourself every day. It is about getting the best out of yourself, both in sport and in life. And in doing so, you help build a better world. For that reason, the slogan of the Olympic Movement is Building a better world through sport.

“It is my fervent hope that this spirit goes far beyond these Olympics, to remind everyone – participants and viewers – that we belong to the same human family. – António Guterres
